Emi Lia is a singer-songwriter, originally from the small but beautiful city of Weimar, and has been writing her own songs for many years, accompanying herself with guitar, piano or ukulele. For a long time she only shared her own music with close friends and family or at small self-organised festivals under the alias “BarfussKind”.
After moving to Regensburg, she started recording and producing her songs in her flat-share room between rush-hour traffic, ambulance sirens and car parades. After months of overcoming and perfectionism, she then released her first single “Different World” on all music platforms at the end of 2022.
In her songs she processes her own experiences and thoughts – these are about heartbreak, sexism and longings. In her lyrics and music, she tries to unite hope, melancholy and authenticity and invite everyone who wants to to reflect, hum along and dream.
